It’s been six years since Bay Area saxophonist Anton Schwartz released an album (sorry Anton, a Christmas EP doesn’t count), so JazzWeek decided to check in with him as his new CD races up the charts. We caught up with Schwartz recently as he prepared to go on vacation for a few days, and contemplated not lugging his sax with him for the first time in ages. I voted “no,” thinking a few days away from work is always a good thing. In fact in a show of solidarity, I’m going to attempt to leave my laptop at home during my next trip. Wish us both luck.
